Leadership Development

Leadership Development is what sets us apart from other colleges and universities!

At Milestone College, leadership isn’t just something we teach—it’s who we are.

Our Chancellor, Dr. Jeff Little, is passionate about the next generation of ministry leaders and helping them reach their God-given potential. If part of Milestone College, you’ll have access to incredible leadership sessions, chapels, and many other developmental discussions given by Dr. Little, leaving you feeling inspired and equipped, both in your faith and growth as a leader.

Our Leadership Development is composed of several unique elements, with an emphasis on our practical leadership tracks. You will be immersed in real-world leadership scenarios through hands-on experiences while being equipped in classroom settings.

Leadership Sessions

Every week of the semester, students gather for leadership sessions featuring teachings from Milestone staff and guest speakers.

A high-level sampling of leadership topics includes self-leadership, growth mindset, emotional and relational intelligence, vision, habits and goals, as well as building trust and stewardship. Several times each semester, Milestone College also hosts special leadership breakfasts with business and community leaders who share practical insights and tools for growth.

Practicum Experience

Milestone College prioritizes learning by offering hands-on opportunities to apply leadership principles in real-world settings and build essential skills. During a student’s four years at Milestone College, they will receive over 500 hours of practical leadership training through an apprenticeship lens, which means a student will hit the ground running in a post-graduate professional environment.

First-Year Practicum Rotation

At Milestone College, we offer a customized practicum rotation in a student’s first year that emphasizes exposure to the different Milestone Church ministry environments. Mirroring ORU’s seven week academic sessions (four per academic year), the first year practicum rotation includes Kids, Worship & Production, Youth, and Connections.

Practicum Placement

Following the students practicum rotation, they will go through a selection process to be placed in a specific practicum for the upcoming year. Students will have the opportunity to carry weight and gain a deeper understanding of the ministry area they are placed in.

Milestone Church is a multi-site church, expanding regionally with new campuses. These campuses give our students opportunities to get leadership experience at different sizes and scopes.

Leaders Gathering

Milestone College students are invited to participate in the annual LEADERS GATHERING at Milestone Church.

This event is a free, two-day experience for pastors and church leaders to gather, grow, and learn practical strategies. Students are given the opportunity to serve and participate in general sessions and ministry specific breakouts throughout the event.

Internships

After completing their first year of college, students have the opportunity to apply for internships that provide hands-on experience, allowing them to develop practical skills and explore potential vocational ministry opportunities.

Residency

Upon graduation, students may also apply for the Milestone Church Residency Program—a one-year immersive experience designed to help candidates discern and strengthen their lifelong ministry calling through shadowing, personal development, teaching, and service opportunities.
